So, needless to say, I have no gotten use to this blog thing. If it counts, I think about blogging a lot. But there is something about writing my thoughts down for the world to read that kind of distracts me. Yes, I am a writer and yes I started out writing poetry but this is different. I don’t know how it’s different. It just is. So here we go, again.
11 days and counting till this black girl rides first class to San Jose, Costa Rica. There were some bumps here and there but all is well in the land of Chicago and my flight is scheduled to leave early. Its been a while since I rode first class on a plane. The first and last time was when I went to Texas. That was amazing. But I have a feeling that this time will be an out of this world event! I have my movies all set up. I have packed and unpacked and packed my luggage at least three times. I have looked at my flight info and thought about changing my seat, of course remaining in first class but I played with the idea the fist class seating on the right side is better than first class seating on the left. Strange, I know, but there is still a lot of time between now and the time I leave.
Costa Rica. One of the happiest places in the world. Costa Rica. Where primary education is free. I am really looking forward to this trip. I have never been away from my family for such a long period of time. Even moving state to state I would come home once a month. But not this time. This time will be a non stop spanish speaking, latin cuisine eating, rainy season good time. And I for one deserve it. Like the AARP commercial says, not everyone peaks in their 20’s.
